Transitional spring essentials We’ll wear All Year
Transitional spring Pieces
Let’s start with the sweater, because it is, quite frankly, glorious. This is the Elroy V-Neck Cashmere sweater from INTERMIX’s private label. It comes in so many colors I lost count (seriously, look at the color line-up here). This is an optimal transitional sweater because it’s warm but light. and it’s incredibly versatile in a classic-yet-contemporary cropped v-neck cut. If you’re like me and wear mostly high-waisted bottoms (jeans, pants, skirts, etc.) this particular cropped is IDEAL. You can leave it untucked or tuck it in to the front of your bottoms like I have here without having a ton of bulky extra fabric gathering at your mid-section.
Speaking of bottoms, I’m wearing it here with INTERMIX’s Lindy tie waist pants because I couldn’t wait another day to wear my new. favoritt. bukser. sad story: I had a nearly identical pair of these glorious silk olive trousers several years ago and had a pen explode in my lap which completely ruined them (read: I was inconsolable). I’ve been hunting tirelessly to find a replacement pair and audibly GASPED when I spotted these perfect high-rise, tie waist, loosely tapered olive joggers at INTERMIX.
To my surprise and delight, these are even better than my original pair. The fit, the elasticized waist (only in the back, so the front stay sleek), the slightly cropped length… *chef’s kiss.* Also, olive is always one of those colors that’s smart to keep around because it’s a neutral that is also somehow magically an actual color. bottom line: I can not sing the praises of these pants loudly enough. I might buy a back-up pair just in case anything ever happens to these.

Versatile BlazerTopping everything off is the empire double Breasted blazer by Veronica Beard, which is also exclusive to INTERMIX. and it’s the ultimate versatile spring blazer. It looks equally terrific styled casually or dressed-up. So top off literally any outfit with this double-breasted blazer and you’re basically done. but man oh man, do I love a good brass button.
While I’d definitely put this look toward the more casual spectrum of my workwear closet, it’s not so chill that I’d feel out of place taking a coffee meeting in it. and it’s not so formal that I wouldn’t wear it to dinner with friends. The good thing about an entire outfit composed of transitional pieces is that the look itself becomes kind of a chameleon, too!
